Is Certquill really free?
Yes. The Free plan issues up to 20 certificates a month with email delivery, verification pages and all 8 templates included, forever — no credit card required. Free-plan certificates carry a small "Made with Certquill" footer; paid plans and credit packs remove it.
How is this different from designing certificates in Canva or Google Slides?
Canva and Slides can design one certificate beautifully, but personalising and exporting 50 or 500 of them one by one — then emailing each person individually — is manual, slow work with no verification. Certquill takes a spreadsheet of names and produces every certificate, every email and every verification page in one pass.
Do recipients need a Certquill account to receive or view their certificate?
No. Recipients just get an email with their certificate attached (or linked) and a public verification page — certquill.zentez.io/verify/CQ-XXXXXXXXXX — that works for anyone with the link, no login required.
What file formats do certificates come in?
Every certificate is available as a high-resolution PNG and a print-ready PDF. Both are generated on demand from the same design, so they always match.
Can I use my own logo, colors and signature?
Yes, on every plan including Free. Upload a logo and a signature image, then set your primary and accent colors and a font pairing. The free generator lets you preview this before you even sign up.
How does certificate verification work?
Every issued certificate gets a unique ID (like CQ-7K3MQ2ZPX4) and a public verification page with a QR code. Anyone — a recruiter, an admissions officer, a curious LinkedIn contact — can scan the code or visit the page to confirm the certificate is genuine and check whether it's been revoked.
Can I revoke a certificate after issuing it by mistake?
Yes, on any paid plan. Revoking a certificate marks it invalid on its verification page immediately and disables the PDF download, while keeping a record of why it was revoked.
Do you have an API for issuing certificates automatically?
Yes, on the Pro and Business plans. The REST API lets your LMS, webinar tool or automation platform (Zapier, Make, n8n) issue certificates the moment someone finishes a course or attends a session — see the API documentation for details.
